SERVING WITH HEART AND PURPOSE
Meet the 2025 SJI PSG EXCO team, a network of parents who have come together to collaborate with the school in a variety of events throughout the year, to support student learning, well-being and development. From organizing meals and care packs for the students facing national exams, to parent-child bonding sessions such as nature walk, community service and movie night, we have enjoyed looking after all of you!
The PSG EXCO team is made up of parents of students in Years 2 to Years 6. The team is chaired by Kavitha Rajan, whose son is in Year 3( OP) and the Vice-Chair for 2025 is Angelia Toh, whose son is in Year 6 this year.
What motivated these parents to join the PSG team? According to Angelia, the school’ s mission of nurturing our children to be“ persons for others”
deeply resonates with her and that“ Through the PSG, I have had the opportunity to organise activities that promote the well-being of parents and students alike, as well as take part in meaningful initiatives that benefited the local community.
“ One such PSG-led initiative truly inspired my continuous involvement. This initiative to raise funds for a community care project fostered parent-child bonding and gave our children the chance to pay it forward in a tangible way. What motivated me further is the overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, many of whom have expressed a strong interest in joining future volunteering efforts”, she explains.
Jasmin Yee, another EXCO team member is a proud Year 2 parent and is a firm believer in the pay-it-forward philosophy,. But what really stands out for her at SJI is the depth and meaning behind the parent-child bonding activities.
