On 6 April 2019 , Brothers , teachers , staff , students , parents and alumni of the

Lasallian schools and establishments in Singapore gathered at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd to remember the legacy of St John Baptist de La Salle , 300 years after his passing on 7 April 1719 .

The Eucharistic celebration began with the procession of flags representing the 9 Lasallian education institutions in Singapore , led by the SJI Bagpipers .

The picture of the Founder with his relic was carried to the sanctuary by Brother John Wyn FSC , a Myanmese Brother attached to SJI International , accompanied by Brother Gregory Lim FSC , the Dean of the Lasallian East Asia District , being the oldest Brother in his 90s .
Together with the Lasallians to celebrate the event were 15 priests , as well as the nuncio , Archbishop Marek Zawleski . In his homily , Archbishop Marek highlighted the Lasallian values and the need for vocations for the Brothers and for Christian educators .
In his address , Brother Paul Ho FSC echoed the Superior General ’ s message that the celebration is not only of a past memory but also about how we are to continue the Lasallian mission to cater to new needs in our own circumstances of today .
