Team Chaleur PRISM from puts SJI on the Global Map

Emerging champion , Team Chaleur , represented Singapore in the Social Innovation Relay ( SIR ) Global Finals on 21 June , after competing against the national winners from Bulgaria , Czech Republic , Greece , Hungary , Japan , Netherlands , Poland , Romania , and Spain . All the teams presented their ideas through video conference to an online jury and answered numerous questions posed to them . The following day , Team Chaleur was announced global champions of SIR 2017 through press release and their prize – an allpaid trip to Prague to attend the annual Junior Achievement ( JA ) Europe Alumni Conference .
During the September break , four students from the Senior Section of SJI flew to Prague , Czech Republic for winning the SIR Global Finals . Team Chaleur had represented Singapore and competed against 9 different nations across the globe and emerged victorious .
SIR – an international competition jointly organised by JA Europe and supported by Nationale-Nederlanden Group – challenges youths to develop business concepts that also address a social need . This year , over 10,000 students from 10 countries were involved in the 7th edition of this initiative .
Team Chaleur comprising Thaddeus Lee ( JC 117 ), Ezekiel Ang ( JC 117 ), Jonathan Audie Widjaja ( JC 108 ) and Tran Nguyen Phuong Ha ( JC 117 ) are from the social enterprise club , PRISM . The formation of PRISM was to help students fulfil mainly their creativity and service strands of Creativity , Activity and Service ( CAS ), which is a core component of the International Baccalaureate
