On 10 February 2017 , SJI had its first inaugural ceremony at the new Indoor Sports Hall to mark our return to the Malcolm Road . The ceremony was followed by a Homecoming picnic party , which encapsulated the joy and celebration of coming home after being away for three years at the Bishan holding school .
This year ’ s Inaugural Ceremony also marks the official welcoming of secondary 1s and the JC 1s to the SJI Family . Living out our school motto Ora et Labora - Pray and Work , Josephians attended a mass together as a school to remind everyone of the importance of prayer as well as hard work . This was significant as it was the first time the entire school gathered for mass to commemorate this special occasion , which would otherwise be celebrated by the Catholics students and staff only .
