As Josephians , we undertake our duties with passion and tenacity . volunteer their services to assist in the Learning Support Officer ( LSO ) scheme . Hsuan Te and Heng Yang have no intention of becoming teachers but they still came forward . When asked why they were so keen to devote their precious holidays to the school Hsuan Te replied succinctly , “ To give anything less than your best to the school that gave us so much is to waste our God-given talent .” – an answer worthy of any Josephian .

The programme expanded with the initiation of two new members : Marcus Victor Leong and Lin Yiu Leung , also from the same year group . As a team , the five of us refined our skeletal programme into something that was organized , time-tabled and broad based so as to cater effectively to as many boys as possible . Each of us specializes in a subject we are strong in and we remain in school till 4.30pm every day . We receive all sorts of questions , ranging from quadratic equations to family problems . Buoyed by our surge in manpower , and the success of the programme , we expanded it to include full-day consultation periods during the March holidays for all subjects .
As Josephians , we undertake our duties with passion and tenacity . I speak for all of us as we have never once questioned our decision to spend our precious time in SJI teaching the boys . Throughout the journey not only have we reinforced our ties with our alma mater but we have had the honour and satisfaction of moulding a batch of Josephians .
It is my hope that future Josephians will similarly rise up to the challenge and continue to be men for others when duty calls .
