Continuum (2013) i have always been both intrigued and fascinated with manmade human forms, starting as a child with dolls. 36 years ago I created a project that involved 8 life sized soft sculptures of people. Each was fashioned after different people involved in my life. They were constructed in a variety of colors relating to the persons personality. The group began the 1st generation’s adventure. When they were assembled for Gallery shows the group sat at a kitchen table (brought from my home) in the center of the Gallery space. The walls of the space were covered in the snapshots capturing the activities of their daily lives. All that remains of the 1st generation are the family photos of the lives they led. Much like what is left of any of us after we are gone. The 1st generation led me into creating a line of jewelry. Casanna Design featured hand carved dancer body parts that were assembled in a puppet like fashion. I then went on to work restoring dolls and creating doll houses. The doll houses led me into the field of interior design. As an interior decorator I was being asked by clients to see through their eyes what they wished to create, it is a very intimate profession. In 2009 I was diagnosed with Cancer and had to step out of the professional world. I chronicled the year long event with drawing/ watercolor imagery. The series “My trip to the Doctor” lead me back to the world fine art. Navigation Web Links January 2014 Lucienne Lovelette TheArtMagazine Collection International 235
