i live and work in Rhode Island USA. I spent the midyears ofmy career creating art-related businesses. While still living in Massachusetts, I opened and ran the Springfield Arts Center. After moving to Rhode Island, I opened a very successful business Casanna Design, featuring my own line of jewelry. My next stop was as an interior decorator, establishing a permanent art gallery located within a high-end furniture store.   In 2009 I left the applied Arts to return to my own personal Artwork. I have established myself within the arts community showing my work widely both nationally and internationally. Behind The Mask People wear many masks for many reasons. It is the turmoil that lies just behind the image that intrigues me. Growing up in a middle class American neighborhood in the 1950’s, life looked like the perfect Norman Rockwell painting. The Saturday Evening Post came to our home regularly, and those images remain a strong influence in my work. The imagery Rockwell portrayed was the life we all tried to lead. Since childhood, people have chosen to confide in me their stories and struggles; often these personal reflections did not match the public image they shared. Is my work edgy? Perhaps it’s a bit more about discomfort, or being uncomfortable by what you’re looking at?  This edginess is mostly found in her private vignettes. --Ron Fournier Navigation Web Links January 2014 Lucienne Lovelette TheArtMagazine Collection International 231
