exhibited pieces, an adequate dimming level
is defined for each display environment.
The flexibility of the lighting system –made of 12W
projectors and wall-washers with Optec lens and
12W Logotec projectors, both with a 1260 lm flux
and 3,000K warm light LEDs – comes from three
factors: the luminaires are mounted on electrified
tracks with the possibility to move them
according to needs; the Spherolit lenses can
be replaced without specific tools, thus easily
modifying luminous fluxes; the discrete aesthetic
of the luminaires does not interfere with the
architecture. For smaller pieces, according
to artworks’ material and characteristics, special
precautions were taken in order to enhance
the finishings and volumes. Special care was
given to the choice of light sources, so as to avoid
colour pigments degradation and to obtain
an excellent colour rendering. Inside the display
cases, luminaires have been placed in a way
to avoid unpleasant reflexes on glasses, shadows
or glare. The system includes different types
of light sources: fluorescent ones inside the cases
or behind the translucent panels, dichroic, optic
fibres, and LEDs. For the general lighting
of the halls, several luminaires have been placed
on the higher part of the walls or recessed
in the false ceiling. Through an electronic control
system, the artificial light is combined with
the daylight, keeping illuminance values
constant, in accordance with meteorological
conditions: the perception is thus constant
in all seasons, both during rainy days with
extensive cloud cover and during sunny ones.
An exquisite work for a project conceived to last
through time without losing modernity.
