Eco-Centric Lighting

When not properly used , night-time artificial lighting , which is vital for people to inhabit outdoor space from dusk to dawn , can pose a threat to ecosystems . Flora and fauna depend on the Earth ’ s daily cycle of light and darkness to govern life-sustaining behaviours such as reproduction , feeding , sleeping and protection from predators . Eco-Centric Lighting is our approach to lighting outdoor spaces that aims to protect biodiversity and the wellbeing of humans . At Cariboni Group we have always been attentive to the care and conservation of the environment . Hence , we have developed three solutions that make illuminated space safe and comfortable not only for human beings , but for nature as a whole : - Dark Friendly Light - Blue Free Light - Switchable White Light

Dark Friendly Light Each place is different and deserves its own light . There is no such thing as universally suitable light : every single lighting design deserves a thorough analysis of the context , the evaluation of several factors and the setting of the right priorities . The spectral power distribution ( S / P ratio ) and the colour rendering index ( CRI70 ) of the optical systems optimise human visual performance and , subject to an accurate risk assessment , allow the minimum intensity of street lighting to be reduced without compromising human safety ( UNI 11248:2016 / UNI EN 13201:2015 ). Available in colour temperatures of 2200K , 3000K and 4000K , our Dark Friendly optical systems prevent unwanted emissions and , thanks to the integration of timers , remote control devices or sensors for detecting the surroundings , make it possible to reduce light intensity when traffic is low or visibility is good .
Blue Free Light By minimising the blue component of the light emission , amber light protects the natural ecosystem and generates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for people . Blue Free optical systems , by emitting in a broader colour spectrum and having a higher energy efficiency than monochromatic amber LEDs , represent the right balance between biodiversity protection , people ’ s well-being and energy saving . This is an ideal solution for lighting spaces and paths of significant ecological interest , mainly used by pedestrians or cyclists : protected areas , wildlife parks , hiking trails , woods or beaches . Blue Free optical systems are suitable for the use of timers , remote control devices or motion sensors that reduce light intensity in conditions of low use of the illuminated area . The communication and detection devices comply with Zhaga standards .
Switchable White Light Optical systems in Switchable White allow to alternate between a very warm light with a low blue content ( CCT = 1800K ), which protects flora and fauna , and a warm light with a moderate blue content ( CCT = 3000K ), which improves human visual performance when traffic is heavy . It is therefore ideal for illuminating hybrid spaces and paths : areas of environmental interest that are also travelled by vehicles , such as rural areas , suburban cycle paths , parks , coastlines or areas bordering protected areas and nature reserves . At times when vehicular traffic is heaviest , a higher colour temperature will be used , corresponding to a higher luminous intensity . Timers can be used at times of low utilisation of the illuminated area , which reduce the colour temperature and / or light intensity . Scheduling can be pre-set or remotely managed with wireless remote-control systems conforming to Zhaga standards . If , on the other hand , vehicular traffic is not time-constrained , motion sensors can be used to detect traffic conditions in real time and adjust the colour temperature and / or light intensity to actual needs . Here too , detection is carried out by Zhaga standard devices .
