La retroilluminazione delle lenti consente l ’ uniformità dell ’ emissione luminosa azzerando i fenomeni di abbagliamento / GMR ENLIGHTS ’ GLASS-FREE optical system , with which the recessed luminaire is equipped , consists of single-chip LEDs and PMMA lenses . The backlighting of the lenses ensures a uniform light emission and eliminates glare

GMR Enlights for ENI Petrol Stations
An example of functional lighting for safety and energy saving
For our company , 2020 has been a year of major developments , in line with the growth trend of the past three years . In order to expand our well-established range of artistic and urban lighting , we invested energy and resources in the study of functional lighting products . Luminaires with high performance in terms of road safety and savings , with optimised lighting performance and developed according to the criteria of durability and ease of installation . In October 2020 GMR ENLIGHTS won the direct supply tender for the lighting and energy requalification of about 3,000 ENI service stations located throughout Italy . The threeyear investment plan provides for the supply of 30,000 LED lighting points , divided into 12,000 pole-mounted street lights for the entrance and parking areas and 18,000 recessed luminaires , developed specifically for the platform roofs of ENI stations . Gas stations are sensitive environments . In order to ensure maximum safety in fuel dispensing areas , the UNI EN 12464-2 standard prescribes high levels of horizontal illuminance ( 150 lux ), calculated at ground level and at a height of approximately one metre above it . ENI guidelines call for higher illuminance levels than those required by regulations ( up to 300 lux ). Light is used as a commercial and marketing tool : a high and evenly distributed illumination becomes a characterising , reassuring and attractive element . At the same time , lighting systems must limit energy consumption in order to cope with the technical demands of long switch-on periods . In addition to these two requirements , there is also the need for high levels of resistance to vibrations and chemical agents .
Following a field inspection of a representative sample of petrol stations , we developed a tailored solution for the lighting of the canopies . The luminaire has been designed with practicality in mind , providing a quick manufacturing process and simplifying installation operations . The simplicity of the manufacturing and assembly operations made it possible to deliver 11,000 pieces within the first 40 days following the signing of the contract . The solution consists of a LED motor with driver and dissipating radiator and a plate with a special internal locking mechanism , designed to fit perfectly into the recesses in the slatted ceiling of the canopies . The outcome is a lighting system that creates a welcoming and safe atmosphere for the users of the service station , making it clearly visible and recognisable to those passing through . Besides high illuminance , the adopted optical technology – GLASS-FREE by GMR ENLIGHTS – ensures zero glare and high efficiency values , thus reducing energy consumption . The high-quality materials and surface treatments ensure high
Orn : il corpo illuminante funzionale GMR ENLIGHTS progettato per un ’ illuminazione efficace / GMR ENLIGHTS functional luminaire designed for an effective lighting resistance even in aggressive environments . Safety , in terms of quality of perception and evenness of light , is the criterion driving the design of the lighting in the entrance areas to the service stations and those surrounding the canopies . UNI EN 12464-2 calls for a 50 Lux illuminance for the entrance and exit ramps and 10 Lux for the inner service areas . For these areas , Orn has been selected and installed on the existing poles . Functionality was the key driver in the product selection . Orn has been developed to provide an effective lighting and ensure a good quality of light . It is equipped with our GLASSED optical system , which combines high system efficiency and colour rendering , with a wide range of optical distributions that can be selected according to lighting requirements . Orn has led to an energy saving of over 70 % compared to existing conventional discharge lamps , without neither compromising the lighting uniformity nor the visual comfort . An ideal match for those areas where the functionality of the lighting affects the success of the installation .
