tempo creare modelli da seguire , bilanciare gli equilibri e incoraggiare a scegliere di lavorare nell ’ illuminazione . E poi , più in generale , contribuire alla diffusione della cultura della luce e far conoscere la figura del lighting designer anche in Italia .
Proprio su questo so che si è resa autrice di un altro progetto d ’ interviste … Tra le recenti iniziative di WiL _ Italy c ’ è stata una serie di video interviste , # SOSlighting , realizzate durante il lockdown , che ho curato in prima persona . Assieme a me , le lighting designer Giordana Arcesilai , Martina Alagna ( da Londra ), Chiara Carucci ( da Stoccolma ), Martina Frattura ( da Lisbona ) e Sarah Elise Sartore hanno dato vita a cinque puntante ricche di consigli pratici e indicazioni per migliorare la permanenza in casa , utilizzando al meglio la luce naturale e artificiale . Insieme abbiamo fatto un gran lavoro sui contenuti per renderli semplici e comprensibili ; tutto questo è stato possibile perché sono colleghe straordinarie che sanno uscire dalla propria zona di comfort e mettersi in gioco , se è per una buona causa . Un ’ altra tappa importante è stata poi il meeting on-line dello scorso 29 ottobre , pensato per dare il benvenuto a tutte le nuove professioniste che nei mesi passati mi hanno contattato esprimendo interesse e volontà di conoscere il progetto WiL . L ’ incontro , al quale hanno partecipato una trentina di professioniste , è stato strutturato attraverso testimonianze e racconti di ciò che è realmente accaduto in questo primo anno , direttamente dalla voce delle WiL protagoniste . Un ringraziamento speciale per il costante supporto va a Susanna Antico , Giacomo Rossi e alle lighting designer sopracitate , nonché a tutte le colleghe che già da un anno lavorano con me allo sviluppo del progetto .

A project supported by female designers in around 50 different countries . Interview with the Italian Ambassador Giorgia Brusemini
The Women in Lighting digital platform ( www . womeninlighting . com ) is an international network that celebrates the professional women working in lighting ; it is a project that creates and preserves evidence of female lighting designers and protagonists in the field of lighting from all over the world . The website , a point of reference and inspiration for the new generations , also aims to gather the experiences of female professionals working in the sector .
We interviewed our standard bearer Giorgia Brusemini – designer , specialised in decorative lighting product design , interior lighting design and installations , as well as a professional active in the dissemination of the culture of light – to which we asked , first of all , to tell us about her personal path in the world of light … By training , I am product designer . After university , when I moved to Milan , I spent six years in the studio of the architect Franco Raggi as head of the product design ; I followed the design of bespoke furniture and lamp design , and I had the opportunity to deal with the most famous Italian brands of decorative lighting . Afterwards I was a research and product development consultant for the Murano-based company
Barovier & Toso for three years . We were in 2005 , and it was at that time , when I was designing shapes and experimenting with new LED sources and materials , that I started to get more interested in the lighting effects . I was fascinated , not so much by the lamp itself , by the shape and material , but by the light it generated , by the glows and by the atmosphere that was created . The approach to the world of the lighting design , the passion for research , and my personal experience in the field of product and interior design , directed me towards the lighting project design for private residences , while continuing to design custom decorative solutions as well . Since 2018 , I have also started a blog , Ogni casa è illuminata , which , starting from the domestic dimension , is designed to bring everyone closer to the theme of good lighting and its potential .
The WiL project is the brainchild of the London-based Light Collective studio – Sharon Stammers and Martin Lupton –, with the support of the company formalighting and of the designer Katia Kolovea of Archifos .
