surrounding built-up of compact and uninteresting single-family residences , to be shielded . The architecture was therefore conceived as a two-faced organism : closed on one side , with only a few “ slits ” for ventilation and lighting , and open on the front towards the green area behind , where the patios are conceived as real open-air rooms . Putting ourselves in the client ’ s shoes , we thought that enjoying the view of the greenery from the first floor , where the sleeping area is located , was ideal for the site . For this purpose , we have designed a sort of large telescope , externally covered with stone , to bring in the natural light from south to north , covering the entire first floor of the house from the inside . By overturning the classical canons of architecture , with the visually heavy part on the ground and the light one on top , we have achieved the opposite effect : at night , when the artificial lighting is switched on , the glassed-in ground floor dematerialises , while the upper stone telescope acquires lightness and seems to float on the floor below . height , and marking the routes without distracting you from the night view . In the yacht , the lighting have different functions adjusting to the various moments of the cruise – the roadstead , the navigation , or the reception in the port –, contributing to make the guests ’ stay unforgettable . Once again , the lighting design project , without overlapping the natural light , completes the experience of navigation during the day at sea . Mylius 65 is a project by Alberto Simeone with the interiors designed by our studio .
For the company Firmamento Milano you designed the Pillola lamp . An elegant and sober lamp , proposed in various versions , including a small unplugged one . How was this project born ? Pillola , designed for Firmamento Milano , was born as a lamp for a soft , warm , indirect domestic lighting . It has been designed thinking about the lessons of the great Milanese masters , such as the Castiglioni brothers , who showed us how to shape the light to illuminate the floors and the surfaces , creating a halo of soft light in domestic spaces . The result is the essential form of Pillola , also available as a travelling lighting fixture that follows you in all the places of the house , almost a lantern that perfectly illuminates an open air dinner , private gardens , or urban terraces .

Mylius 65 is an interesting yacht design project in which every centimetre has been optimised and made functional , especially the lighting . What solutions have you shaped ? The yacht is a sophisticated architecture in motion that must respond to the characteristics required by navigation at sea . For this reason , the light must be designed according to the use of space and adapted to the different moments of navigation . An indirect soft lighting highlights the lines of the interiors ; at night it allows you to navigate in total safety , simultaneously arousing emotions , showing the differences in
