in Piazza della Scala a Milano in dicembre.
Grazie alla progettazione di I-DEA S.r.l.,
alla realizzazione della Multi-utility ENGIE S.p.A
e alla fornitura degli apparati di illuminazione
da parte della Società del gruppo Philips
SIGNIFY è stato possibile realizzare questa
installazione luminosa.
Con le feste natalizie si apre la stagione
operistica del Teatro alla Scala, prestigioso teatro
che ha ospitato e ospita grandi e famosi artisti
di tutto il mondo.
Da qui l’ispirazione che ha permesso
la realizzazione della struttura. Il soffitto

del Teatro presenta infatti un disegno
a cassettoni digradanti su geometria realizzata
secondo le spirali della sezione aurea.
La proporzione ideale tanto perseguita
dai rinascimentali e da Leonardo da Vinci.
Il reticolato, in materiale riflettente e impreziosita
con piccoli punti strass in cristallo, è realizzato
con la medesima regola geometrica costituendo
4 vele curve disposte tutt’intorno alla Piazza
con centro la Statua di Leonardo. Qui il Teatro
si rende pubblico, si curva, si modella sui
cittadini, avvolgendoli in un luccicante abbraccio.
La struttura riflettente così realizzata è illuminata
da circa 200 metri di LED lineari, a luce bianca
o colorata, che sfruttando un sistema di controllo

Designed by I-DEA S.r.l., this luminous installation
was made possible thanks to the realization
by the multi-utility ENGIE S.p.A and the supply
of lighting equipment by SIGNIFY, a company
of the Philips group.
The Christmas festive season opens the opera season
of the Teatro alla Scala, the prestigious theatre that
has hosted, and still hosts, major and famous artists
from all over the world.
Hence the inspiration that allowed the realization
of the structure. The ceiling of the theatre has, in fact,
a coffered design characterized by a geometry inspired
by the spirals of the golden section. The ideal
proportion, as pursued by the Renaissance and
by Leonardo da Vinci.
Made of reflective material and embellished with
small crystal rhinestones, the mesh structure follows
the same geometric rule, forming 4 curved sails
arranged all around the Piazza, in the centre of which
is the Statue of Leonardo. Here the Theatre is made
public, it bends, it models itself on the citizens,
wrapping them in a shining embrace.
The thus created reflective structure is illuminated
by about 200 meters of linear LEDs, in white
or coloured light; a control system creates a dynamic,
shaded upward effect.
This blend of harmonies between past and present
was designed by I-DEA, an engineering company
that carries out its activity in the light design
field, led by Arch. Lorenza Golinelli
and Engr. Alberto Ricci Petitoni.
