The beauties
of Caselle Torinese under
a new light
E
nel Sole has realized the new lighting system
of the city centre of Caselle Torinese,
the 18 thousand inhabitants municipality of the
metropolitan city of Turin, home of the “Sandro
Pertini” international airport. The lighting gives
identity and liveability to the urban environment,
transforming the central square of the town into
a meeting place, also in the evening. The finer
buildings, symbols of the city, are used as a scenic
backdrop of an architectural ensemble, through
a lighting that goes beyond the single building,
connecting the whole urban complex, in which
visual glimpses follow citizens’ enjoyment. Palazzo
Mosca, seat of the City Council, the kindergarten
and the primary school, the Church of Saint Mary
overlooking the central Piazza Boschiassi
and the Church of the Battuti, a marvellous
example of Piedmontese Baroque: these buildings
are illuminated in accordance with their
architectural characteristics.
Enel Sole’s goal is to efficiently and effectively
illuminate cities, towns, and their distinctive
elements by designing, implementing
and managing systems and services that enhance
the well-being of the people living there. Through
a “path of light”, Enel Sole promotes the culture
of lighting in its utmost expressiveness.
In Caselle Torinese, 33 LED architectural
projectors with a 3,000 Kelvin colour temperature
have been used and selected according to
the geometric characteristics of the buildings.
They were all integrated and camouflaged with
the surrounding environment, so that they are not
visible, not even in daylight hours. In compliance
with regional laws – which are concerned with the
reduction of the luminous flux emitted towards
the sky –, Enel Sole provided a separate system
dedicated solely to the artistic lighting, which
automatically turns on and off as programmed.
The LED projectors were chosen in function
of the goods to be illuminated, of their size, and
wwwof their architectural characteristics. They
provide a total power of 1,35KW, reducing
consumptions and maximizing energy savings.
