MODEL CONSTITUTION
CONSTITUTION OF THE INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL AT LAWRENCE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY
MISSION
We, the Interfraternity Council at Lawrence Technological University set forth this Constitution and Bylaws in order to cause closer working relationships and coordination among its Member Fraternities and Lawrence Technological University, in accordance with the policies and standards established by the North-American Interfraternity Conference( NIC).
ARTICLE I – NAME
This organization shall be known as the Interfraternity Council( IFC) at Lawrence Technological University.
ARTICLE II – PURPOSE OF THE IFC
The purpose of the IFC shall be to: 1 Provide a sovereign governance structure for its Member Fraternities 2 Promote the interests of its Member Fraternities. 3 Discuss questions of mutual interest and present to its Member Fraternities such recommendations as the IFC deems appropriate. 4 Promote the interests of Lawrence Technological University. 5 Promote mutual cooperation between its Member Fraternities. 6 Promote mutual cooperation between the IFC, fellow governing councils, and student organizations at Lawrence Technological University.
ARTICLE III – IFC MEMBERSHIP
Section I. Membership Eligibility Membership in the IFC is open to chapters of fraternities at Lawrence Technological University, as follows:
○ Any chapter of a North-American Interfraternity Conference( NIC) member organization shall hold membership in the IFC.
○ Any chapter or colony of a local, state, regional, or international fraternity, which is not a member of the NIC, may hold membership in the IFC.
Section II. Membership Classification for Member Fraternities The membership classification of Member Fraternities shall be as follows
