marks the 20th anniversary of 3D platformer Payoneer, Crash Bandicoot. The game was released on September 9th 1996 and all three titles were met with critically acclaimed and praised for their creativity and ingenuity. I wanted to go back to the start and see where this iconic orange marsupial began.

The series tasted that same sweet distinguished air as home console heroes, Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, after only two years of glowing reviews and masses of sales. Crash connected with the public in a big way but at the turn of the console generation began to lose his way. Crash 1, 2 and 3 were released within a year of each other under the guidance of award-winning development team, Naughty Dog, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped was released in fall 1998 and outsold all of the major 3D platforming titles of that year including Banjo-Kazooie, Spyro the Dragon, Abe’s Exodus, and even sonic adventure. All 3 Crash games sit in the top 10 PlayStation 1 games of all time and warped rates the highest in the series.

Coming back to 2016 where we have been getting hints of Crash Bandicoot returning, we finally got a full answer to these hints at £e 2016, where Crash was announced to come back to home consoles in Skylanders Imaginators in fall 2016 and to be seen as HD remastered trilogy of Crash 1, 2 and 3 exclusively for the PlayStation 4, with completely new rendered cinematics controls and added bonuses like time trials and bonus levels, to fall in 2017. The community was very happy to see this but was worried about how they would bring this triangular blocky characteristics onto an HD format.

To conclude Crash Bandicoot is an iconic mascot in the 3d platforming industry and will be known for his complex art style and his ingenuity on the PlayStation 1.
