The Good Immigrant is a hilarious, moving and anger-inducing collection of essays from a number of different BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic) writers that explore what it means to be a minority or an ‘other’ in Britain today. England is 87.2% white* - this may be very shocking to those who find themselves in London, a city which is regarded as amongst the most culturally diverse in the world. The beauty of this book is that it presents relatable stories to people of those minorities and a new perspective on living in Britain to those who are not BAME.

This book is one of great importance in today's political climate - it gives the voice to minorities which are usually overlooked or dismissed; it sheds light on the xenophobia and racism that they still face today. I cannot recommend this book enough; it has given me an insight to the lives of minorities and reminded me of the privileges I have that I must use every day toward towards a society more diverse, accepting and free.
