Thanks to the advice and tips of his friend and mentor, Andy, Alex won the last ranger’s sports mile) Alex must have been very happy with himself for winning the last rangers sports event! Wow - impressive.

This article will be about Alex P. Brown a Scottish cross country runner, athlete from Law. Mr Brown has been a friend of the school for many years, he worked with the upper school to train them for Cross Country Competitions. Mr Brown has been an inspiration, coach and supporter of our LPS athletes - a man of mystery; we wanted to find out more...

SCHOOL

While a pupil Carluke higher grade he represented the school at the upper ward sports at Leigh bent in Hamilton and won the mile medal which is very impressive.

BOYS BRIGADE

Alex started running when he was 11 his whole family went the Motherwell YMCA until Law and District AAC Was founded in 1967 when Andy his brother and him switched.

With the help of his father Andrew, Ian’s father, Sammy, my brother in law, Tom Muir, who would become secretary and some local friends, Law And District Athletics Club athletics club was formed.
