FACT ALERT - did you know that collectively vegans save the 4163 litres of water each day?! That’s the same as 4163 big bottles of fizzy juice! The FIRST ever vegan cookbook to come out was in September 1879 hundreds of years ago. It was created by an American man called Russel Thacher Trall. In the United Kingdom over 400,000 people are vegan and in the world there is over 600,000!

Here are some food vegans can eat:

-Vegetables and Fruits.

-Legumes such as peas, beans and lentils.

-Nuts and seeds.

-Breads, rice, and pasta.

-Dairy alternatives such as

soya milk, coconut milk,

almond milk.

-Seaweed!

Vegetarians and vegans were estimated in 2018 to be about 11% of the world population. This is great – it’s great for our health but it’s also great for our planet. We think that more of us could dip into vegan/vegetarian diets!

FACT ALERT - One hamburger = 3000 litres of water = Equivalent to showering for two months straight! Scary, but true…

We know that you might not want to totally become vegetarian or vegan – but you could even eat one vegetarian/vegan meal a day – or take part in ‘Meat-Free Mondays’. Ever little action makes a difference in our fight to save our planet. It’s time to act – and just as well there are so many delicious vegan foods and options out there now!
