and he encouraged her to get her skippers
license and it was not long before she was
running the skippers’ courses and
becoming proficient as an examiner for
SAMSA – as well as lecturing and teaching
people to drive boats under the safety
portfolio.

An avid skiboat angler, Lyn has
been a member of Nomads Game
Fishing Club for the past 30 years
and she was the founder member
of Guinjata Club and secretary for
many years.
For 12 years until 2010, Lyn was also the
main organiser for the Guinjata Species
Bonanza (she is now Honorary Member of
Guinjata club).
She is the Secretary of Southern Gauteng
DSAA and currently Club Manager at East
Rand Speedboat Club in Benoni.
One

Skiboat, with boating partner Stefan Du
Plessis, she caught the biggest fish of the
Guinjata Bonanza in 2014 to win the main

* Junior SASSSAc Team Manager
and promoter of Junior
angling…..in 2016, her U16
teams won the U16 Gam efish
Nationals, taking a Gold, a Silver
and Top Junior Angler.
* Skipper for Cat B Surf and Night
rated.
