The flat fish or flounder / plaice were
very well camouflaged in the sand as
you can see from the pics above.
Cod species.
This was my personal take from the
first days diving. I managed nine fish
in total, five Flounder, three Plaice and
one Cod.
Day Two started off with great
conditions,
however
conditions
during the competition deteriorated
quickly. Visibility dropped and water
temperature decreased with increased
currents. Air temperature also reduced
followed by rain and wind.
Before the completion of the
competition athletes were removed
from the water and the competition
was called off for the day. We were
informed by the safety officials that
a fellow diver Matthias Sandeck had
lost his life while contending with the
conditions.
