c
ongratulaons to John Mthambo
(fishing off the boat Magnum)
for taking the honours at the
popular Planum Boys 2018 compeon -
recently held at Sodwana Bay.
His excellent haul of several Yellowfin Tuna
of between 18 and 20kg’s (including one of
21.7kg), a 17.4kg Wahoo and, among
others, a Black Marlin; racked up the
points for the win.
Lowrance electronics again dominated the
event. Waterberg Skiboat Club chairman,
Franz Reyneke , says the majority of the
Limpopo-based members are Lowrance
supporters.
Franz also won the Link-8 VHF radio, from
Lowrance South Africa for the most points
in the Waterberg leg of this event.
Anglers (30 boats) came all the way from
Rustenburg to north of Polokwane and
enjoyed two and a half days of fishing, but
unfortunately the last two days were blow
outs. Needless to say, the host venue
Visagies, was filled to the brim with
anglers waing for beer weather - which
sadly didn’t happen.
Organiser of the event Hennie
Janssen sent us this report:
