Our new Brand
Ambassador Gilbert
Foxcroft is well-known
in fishing circles, not
only as an avid (and
hugely successful)
Carp angler, but
also in his role as
representative for The
King Fisher (Fishing
Tackle Manufacturer
and Distributor) in
Durban, where he is
responsible for Sales, Marketing and Product development. He covers
the area from Free State to Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West.
He is also Brand Ambassador for several fishing tackle brands and visits
around 700 Tackle shops in South Africa.
Gilbert has just become the proud owner of a Lowrance Elite 9-Ti² and
he is particularly excited about this “powerful unit, it’s compact size,
very high resolution considering the screen size, the transducer which
gives amazingly detailed views and specific areas can be targeted for
revisiting.”
He has been fishing since he was six years old and grew up in Ladysmith
in KwaZulu Natal, where he and his dad spent many hours “doing what
we loved best” at Spioenkop and Woodstock dams.
After he matriculated in 1989, he went to RAU university in Pretoria to
study for a BA Humanities. 1992 marked the start of his Carp fishing
career, after he met Peter Bryant and other well-known Carp anglers
like Simon Crow, Rob Hughes, Steve Briggs, John ‘Shoes’ Jones, Frank
Warwick and Tim Paisley to mention a few.
