slideshow Anglers braved the very windy conditions and rough sea on Sunday and fishing until the final moment of the competition. Liz, John and Steph enjoyed the sunny afternoon at the Club where they watched the weigh-in action. Prizegiving took place in the big marquee at 4pm. Registration and briefing took place on Friday evening and it was a very festive affair. Organiser Paul Shepard and his team kept it informative and fun, with a panel discussion involving several well-known personalities. Former Springboks, cricketer Pat Symcox and rugby players John Allen (who also played for Scotland) and Jean Deysel and entertainer Bok van Blerk, kept the crowd entertained with stories and even a tune or two. Fishing started on Saturday and anglers launched from Durban to Richards Bay. By 5pm they were all back at the Umhlanga Skiboat Club and the best catches were recorded. Graham Doman’s Cuda led the field with Jordan Jones in second place with a 22.14kg Yellowfin Tuna (he eventually ended 4th overall).
