Our defense got a stop and we got the ball back with a lot of momentum. After a couple short passes, we were put against the wall on a third and five. The center snapped the ball and I dropped back. No one was open. I rolled out of the pocket trying my hardest to not panic but there were defenders running after me and I had nowhere to go. At the last second I saw one of my receivers coming across the field, but I wasn’t in the clear yet because I knew I wouldn’t have time to set up and throw. He was at least 25 yards down field and I had to throw it using just my arm and get it there with accuracy. I had no other choice so I went for it and it dropped right in his hands like an egg on a pillow, his hands swallowed the ball and he continued running for a 45-yard gain. Right after that play I threw a 15-yard pass to my favorite receiver, and best friend, for another touchdown. Making the score 27-24 and 8 minutes left in the game.

Our defense gained life from seeing the offense strive – enough life to get another stop and give the ball back to the offense with 6 minutes, plenty of time to drive down field and score.

We came out strong with a couple 10-yard passes. The fact that we were passing the ball so much opened up the running game, so we got a nice run that went for 26 yards. After those few plays, we were 20 yards from the goal line. The center snapped the ball and I had to run out of the pocket almost right away because there was a blitz that no one picked up.

I made him miss with a spin and hit one of my receivers with an accurate pass in a tight window. The next play I got the ball and rolled out the pocket, didn’t see a receiver open but there was room for me to run so I did and scored.

The crowd went crazy, everyone up on their feet. I got lost in the moment. The 30 seconds after I scored felt like 5 minutes of me just standing there looking at the crowd and sideline, mesmerized. All I could think about was that we now had the lead and we were down 19-0. However, I had to snap out of it because our defense still needed to get another stop to secure the win.

The first play of their drive, so much adrenalin was running through my body I felt unstoppable and I sacked the quarterback for a 10-yard loss. Which eventually led to a 4th and long that they didn’t get and we won. The feeling was unreal. We really won.
