I’ve heard Russians are
even worse but in a good
a sense. It seems that the
American way of facing
emotional issues is to
deny them, to pretend
they don’t exist. French
or Europeans in general
tend to be more honest
about their emotions and
if you’re sad, you’re sad
and that’s okay. It’s part
of being alive and going
through life and dealing
with different problems.
If you’re happy, you’re
happy, if you’re hungry,
you’re hungry. Just accept
your emotions and don’t
pretend that they don’t
exist or to control them.
KK: I wonder sometimes if
that’s because Europeans
have gone through such
an older culture and have
gone through so many
wars in many countries
on their own land. A lot
of things from history
that haven’t happened in
America that we haven’t
really had to deal with
as a culture and we are
a very young culture.
