My Acoustic Sessions Tour Experience
Cambridge, Massachusetts 1/20/14
So after spending some time in line waiting near the dumpster of The Sinclair, the doors finally open at about 7:40 ( ten minutes late). After meeting two new friends in line we all ran up to the entrance and we ready to go straight in and get a spot. The security guard screamed at myself and my mom to "WALK! WALK!" even though we were just speed walking. Inside, I didn't want to hit the merchandise table first because I knew we wouldn't get a good spot if we waited in that line so I grabbed my mother's arm and dragged her into the venue. The venue was small. Not even as big as a House of Blues, but a comfortable size, as soon as I walked in I knew that this show was going to be up close and personal. There was a second floor but it was full with all the meet and greet people so I assume they were forced to go up there. We went into the standing pit that's in front of the stage and were surprised to see that there were only about six rows in front of us which isn't bad for a couple of people from Boston who arrived about and hour and a half before the door opened , and there was a good amount of people behind us.
Plug In Stereo came out on stage right on time, and really brought the crowd alive. People were screaming got their cameras out were just ready to have a good time. I forgot all about my personal life and problems as soon as the show started and was getting pumped to see Cody. After Plug In Stereo finished playing there was fifteen minutes till Cody steps out on stage. Cody was about a couple minutes late but no one was paying attention to that when he stepped out onstage. As soon as he walked out from that curtain the crowd pushed as forward toward him as they possibly could. He looked amazing as he sat on his stool and played his guitar. throughout the show he stopped every now and then to give us the background story on how one his songs was written and recorded and he interacted with us as an audience every now and then. At one point he even sang Happy Birthday to everyone whose birthday it was (We all raised our hands). It was a great time. Of course there is always the girl that passes out but this time the girl didn't get back up right away so everyone was freaking out especially Codes. They thought they had an EMT backstage but it turns out they didn't but Justin Stirling and Brad went right into action and helped the girl and got her out of there. At first they were going to shut the show down because of that but shortly after she was out Cody came back onstage and played us some songs by himself which had never been done before on The Acoustic Sessions Tour.
When he walked off stage of course everyone was upset , but the majority of girls started to head toward the exit. Myself and a few other girls I'd met at the concert we like, "What? No encore?". Soon he came back out onstage and I literally got second row because of the people who were leaving. It was literally amazing because he sang IYIY like he usually does.
This concert gets a five out of five stars because it was so personal and nothing like Cody has ever done before. I even feel like I enjoyed it more than the Paradise Tour which I thought was impossible because that tour was a hell of a party! I highly recommend buying tickets to the remaining shows if you haven't it was a concert that you will never forget!
