Love Issue No. 1
Love Issue No. 1
The Interview
By Pablo.
I opened my eyes this morning, the sun flashed me, my eyes looked
around and realised that today was the day. It’s been a week of
sleepless nights and hard working days, LOVE has been in production
for months now, and today, this morning marks the culmination of it, I
prepared the apartment, Mexico’s city cold breeze ran trough the
room, the smell of fresh daisies took over, I had specifically asked to
have fresh flowers decorate the view of my apartment for my guest,
my playlist started with Mechanical’s bride “Colour of Fire”, the
covergirl interview had to be perfect and I was determined to make
that happen, I sat quietly at my studio, waiting anxiously, looking
trough the many pages of the Issue as I listened to a car pull over, a
gracious voice said “Thank you”.
The voice faded and along came the click clack of stilettos on the
marble steps that led to a wooden door, made by Mexican artisans
specially for me, staff opened as my covergirl arrived at the door, my
housekeeper led Khol , super model, graphic designer and a member
of stardoll’s elite into my studio, the Grecian style beauty stood at my
door “Well hello there, it’s been a long time” she said, in an almost
chanting tone, I snickered and greeted her, “Indeed ” I said standing
up to hug her and offer a seat for her, we looked at each other for a
second, it’s been years since I first met Khol, and now she’s here
sitting on my studio about to be interviewed for the first issue of my
beloved project, it’s almost surreal.
We start off talking about how long it’s been, the projects we’ve
taken on the turns our stardoll life has had, after a few minutes
straighter, her smile is warm, but her gaze are focused, sharp. The
interview begins,
"Khol some of us have known who you are for a long time, but some
of the new members may not, would you mind telling us about you,
how did your career start?”
Her smile fades, turning into a reflective expression, I can almost
see the thoughts coming into place as she forms her answer, her
voice tone is firm as she speaks, “I think it was 2012, It was TTT
Fashion Weekend and they were looking for 'The Face', so the face
they would choose would be all over the promo and ads for the
event and would be literally everywhere for everyone to see.
So i contacted Kimberly who owns Today's Top Trends and sent
her a headshot I told her I would love to be involved and she literally
said yes straight away, she seemed really eager to have me. I had no
experience what so ever at the time, just those silly scenery club
model pages and suddenly I was the face of TTT FW, people started
asking who I was and using my doll for projects.
It was a lot of fun seeing my doll on different projects, I mean I was
in nearly every magazine, some covers. Then I started to use the
publicity to venture into something else on the side, which was
graphic designing, I was very amateur at the time (MS Paint and all)
and it was the time where Stardoll's Next Top Graphic Designer was
in it's first season since I was close with Kimberly who also owned
that project she let me replace one of the designers w ho dropped
out.
