Biggest achievement so far?

Recently we went to a show, it was our first one in 6 months as we had been working hard with our new coach going out every week and making sure we had everything on lock. So this was really our first big test. It was just a local show but was the last run before Melbourne and since it was over a year since she first competed she was now in the Open section, so had quite a large field. She warmed up really well, a little more forward than normal but not surprising. The first class was the Novice Hack class, she is only a small hack at 15.1hh so there were much bigger horses in the class but my little mare worked like a dream even when a horse literally went sideways into her in the line up and she ended up winning her class. The next class was the Open Hack 15-15.2hh filled with a much higher standard of hacks most of which were in doubles and clearly more experienced hacks, again Missy was called in first and worked like a true champion taking out the small hack class. That day she proved herself as a show horse that I hope will continue to take me up higher and higher.

The future?

The future for Missy is quite broad, I have her entered in some dressage days early this year to try her in something different, she is a horse that likes to be kept busy so maybe dressage will be better for her than just going around in circles in the show ring. I will never sell this lovely mare, she is an absolute horror horse but I couldn’t imagine life without her.
