The last foal Missy produced was another colt, Dusk, by purebred Arabian stallion Anatase Sheer Kahn (By Shakla Kahn). Dusk was a very attractive burnt buckskin with a lovely temperament too.

After she had Dusk, Missy was retired from breeding. She was eighteen at that time and looked absolutely gorgeous. She looked like she was eight, not eighteen. I used her for my riding horse and she was very easy to ride, sensible and quiet. I was in poor health and didn’t ride a lot, but I knew I could hop on her anytime and she would be fine. Missy never suffered any long term consequences from the time she was turned out in the drought- stricken paddock. I was very lucky with her. I think the key was to gradually improve the quality and quantity of good quality, nutritious feed and not overload her body with too much before it was able to cope. Rescuing her was a very rewarding and satisfying experience. I will always be grateful to Lynda for giving me the opportunity.
