Arranged to please the roving eye of
a visitor at a glance, to the owner they represent a lifetime of memories. The elaborately
dressed Japanese doll, in a kimono with a baby
instead of an umbrella on its back, was meant
to please a couple’s small children after a business trip to Japan. Its lilting lullaby echoes the
serenity of the simple shrines of that country. The delicately hand
