even one kind word can make a difference in someone ’ s life . I really believe it ’ s the legacy of my mother .”
Her kids keep her plenty busy , but she is also involved with many organizations like the American Psychiatric Association as a Distinguished Fellow and a District Branch Disaster Representative for Kentucky on the APA Disaster Committee . She is also a past President of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of Kentucky & Indiana and is involved currently with the GLMS Foundation .
As a creative outlet , she loves cooking and fashion . Her kids will often bring her new recipes to try , as they are serious foodies like their mom . She pays special attention to the presentation of her dishes and enjoys creating beautiful visuals and food decorations . She also loves any occasion to get dressed up and experiment with fashion , often creating new designs with her clothes .
Through her years and life experiences , she knows that perseverance , patience and faith have been her guiding lights .
“ No matter what struggle I face , I ’ ve always worked hard . When there ’ s a tough time in your life , you should never give up . It makes you stronger and you have to keep going . Another quote that I live by says , ‘ Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over , it became a butterfly .’ That ’ s me .”
