GLMS Foundation Awards $ 125,000 in Medical Student Scholarships at Doctor ’ s Cup

The GLMS Foundation has striven over the last decade-plus to prioritize medical student education through their Doctor ’ s Cup golf scramble and this year was no different . Reaching a record-breaking amount of $ 125,000 awarded among 10 University of Louisville School of Medicine students , the 14 th annual scramble was a great success .
As tradition has it , we got together on Sept . 30 at Hurstbourne Country Club after a weekend of rain to a beautiful day on the golf course , with blue skies by the end of the day . The competition was tight , with 25 teams participating and top scores within one stroke of each other . The team in third place was sponsored by Junkin Safety Appliance Company , Inc . The second-place team was sponsored by UofL Health . Our first-place team , with their first win after several years in the tournament , was sponsored

We appreciate our generous sponsors for allowing us to honor the medical student scholarship recipients and give back to the future generation of medicine . This year ’ s award recipients were Caitlin Cahill , Anne Claire Clemmons , Molly Fears , Stacy Henley , Alexa Howser , Sydney Johnson , Grace Long , Paya Yazdan Panah , Baylee Polzin and Natalie West . We congratulate these students , who were selected for their continuous efforts to better themselves and the community both inside and outside the classroom .
