the use of AI grows in health care , as doctors we must be cognizant of the ethical issues and biases that come along with it . We must be involved in the developmental process of AI software as well as its integration into the national standards of care to ensure optimal patient care with these technologies .

The integration of Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) in medicine has surged in recent years , fundamentally reshaping the health care landscape . While many view AI as a new development , its roots trace back to the 1970s with pioneering systems like MYCIN , which provided treatment recommendations for bacterial infections . Today , AI tools span multiple medical disciplines , including radiology , internal medicine and neurology . These applications utilize complex imaging and genetic data to predict patient outcomes and personalize treatment plans , enhancing both efficiency and accuracy in clinical settings . However , as

For instance , AI algorithms , like those developed by Google ’ s DeepMind , can identify eye diseases from retinal scans with an accuracy of over 94 %, significantly outperforming the standard diagnostic accuracy of around 87 % achieved today . Many administrative tasks that physicians are required to complete could be done with automated technology faster and with higher accuracy while allowing physicians to spend longer on patient interactions and education .
