Louisville is where I call home !
What drew you to medicine ?
I am very grateful to my parents and teachers who encouraged me to be curious and embrace learning anything and everything . With that curiosity , I found I was most drawn to science and biology , especially when it related to how the human body functions . Medicine was the perfect fit for me with its intersection between medicine , education and research – all in an environment where I am constantly learning , while directly impacting people ’ s lives .
What specialty are you planning to go into and what drew you to that specialty ?
I am planning to go into radiology . I enjoyed learning every subject during my preclinical years and enjoyed all my clinical rotations , so I knew I had my work cut out for me . When I learned about and chose radiology , everything clicked in place . From the comprehensive knowledge I have to know about all parts of medicine , to its evolving field and technology-driven advances , to learning a whole new way to view medicine , I know it ’ s the specialty for me and one that will keep me challenged and excited throughout my life . I ’ ve been keeping a running list of the reasons why I like radiology , and I ’ m sure to add more as I become more and more immersed in the field .

What are you most looking forward to regarding your future in medicine ?
I am excited about where my future will take me ! One of the many reasons I went into medicine is because every person is affected by medicine and their health , so there are limitless ways to connect with people through medicine . This can be through books , art , education , community engagement , TV shows – you name it . I ’ m excited to see what opportunities I ’ ll be able to be a part of , or even create , to connect medicine with the communities we serve .
What do you like to do in your spare time ?
I enjoy my daily walks around my neighborhood with my Merlin app , trying to decipher what birds are chirping each day . I like to catch up with my Oakland A ’ s when I get the chance , and I ’ m always admiring the beautiful sunsets here , figuring out which colors I ’ m going to mix to paint them .
What is your favorite thing about Louisville ( restaurant , park , event , etc .)?
You can find me at Beckley Creek Park taking hikes with my family , or at the Egg Lawn playing frisbee or soccer with my brothers ! I also enjoy trying out all the amazing restaurants in Louisville with my family , and I am always open to suggestions on where to go next !
