What is your hometown ?
I was born and raised in Louisville , Kentucky . I attended a local Catholic grade school , Holy Spirit , and then went on to high school at Sacred Heart Academy ( Go Valkyries !).
What drew you to medicine ?
I was first drawn to medicine by my high school biology teacher , Mrs . Schrage . Every class , she read a medical case , and then the class would try to “ solve the mystery .” She inspired me to pursue a biology degree at Villanova University where I conducted clinical research in an emergency department in Camden , New Jersey . Additionally , as a collegiate athlete , I suffered numerous injuries , three surgical procedures and months of rehab . My team physician , Dr . Duncan , played a vital role in my recovery . He , and other health care providers , inspired me to pursue medicine . I volunteered with organizations such as Special Olympics and Hospice that reaffirmed my commitment to enter the medical field .
What specialty are you planning to go into and what drew you to that specialty ?
I am planning to pursue a career in plastic and reconstructive surgery . I was first drawn to the specialty when my cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer . I was inspired by the positive impact the plastic surgeons played in restoring her form , function and overall mental health . From working with breast cancer patients , managing complex wounds and repairing cleft lips and palates , I fell in love with the diversity of plastic and reconstructive surgery .

I am looking forward to forming meaningful relationships with my patients . Additionally , I am hoping to continue to seek out research and teaching opportunities .
What do you like to do in your spare time ?
My interests or hobbies include fitness , pickleball , nutrition and playing / coaching soccer . In between college and medical school , I helped coach the Sacred Heart Valkyries to a state soccer title . Since retiring from competitive soccer , I have developed an interest in long distance running . My father and I have completed the Triple Crown as well as the Kentucky Derby Festival Mini and Full Marathons .
