Lifestyle Medicine: Certifications, Applications and Looking Forward- Part 2

In 2017, the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine( ABLM) began offering certification for physicians and other licensed health care professionals. 1

» Physicians are certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine( ABLM). Becoming a Diplomate of the ABLM( DipABLM) requires completion of the following:
• Proof of primary board certification as a physician
• A minimum of 30 hours of specific lifestyle medicine online CME
• At least 10 hours of in person-CME from attending specific LM oriented conferences
• Submission of a case study, documenting the positive effects of a lifestyle medicine intervention in a patient
• Passing a certification exam
» Physicians-in-training are certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine( ABLM). Becoming a Diplomate of the ABLM( DipABLM) requires completion of the following:

• Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum( LMRC) or
• ABLM approved equivalency within their residency or fellowship: proof of primary board certification, proof of completion
» Professionals( PhD and Masters) are certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine( ACLM). Becoming a Diplomate of the ACLM( DipACLM) requires completion of the following:
• A minimum of 30 hours of specific lifestyle medicine online CME
• At least 10 hours of in-person CME from attending specific LM oriented conferences
• Passing a certification exam

Impact of Lifestyle Medicine and the Quintuple Aim
