Struggles I Face

by TIMIR BANERJEE , MD
Inspissated feelings Blackheads that don ’ t belong Makes my feelings hard to express . I remain dissatisfied Unfulfilled And angry .
The struggles I face often seem overwhelming They seem handed down to me In a biased way Anxiety prevents me from solving the issues during the day
I spend sleepless nights with disturbed REM sleep that gets in the way
Of finishing my tasks Thus my mind remained cluttered Much like my desk Disheveled , disorderly and grotesque .
Since I couldn ’ t ask the Oracle of Delphi I breathed hard and made sure that I used a few sigh
To keep my brain energized with oxygen carried by good flow of blood
I rebooted my thinking process by pressing the delete button in my mind
Filled with thoughts that entered like in a flood
I found that meditation and mindfulness are essential tools needed to recover fully
And to understand the importance of being kind , so my behavior would not be gauche and ugly
I needed to feel the meaning of the five wounds of Christ 1 sincerely
Struggles and conflict are the pebbles that get between the toes as we walk in the path of life slowly or rapidly
Success depends on learning the ways of conflict resolution of Morton Deutsch
By paving the road with sand at the rough patches .
