Each year , the GLMS Foundation Doctor ’ s Cup is a wonderful celebration of UofL medical students and a love of philanthropy and golf – and this year was no different . On Sept . 18 , we again gathered at Hurstbourne Country Club to see who would putt their way to a first-place trophy . Maxing out at 28 teams this year , the competition was stronger than ever .

At the reception following a beautiful day on the course , the stage was set for award time . Coming in third place was the team sponsored by Junkin Safety Appliance Company ; in second place we had the team sponsored by Stock Yards Bank and Trust . Coming in first place and getting that coveted plaque on the trophy was the UofL Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Team of Dr . Logan Mast , Dr . Neil Patil , Dr . Ellis Thompson and Dr . Victor Huynh . This year ’ s Worst Putter Award went home with Barry Barlow .
Also at the reception , we awarded a record 11 scholarships to University of Louisville School of Medicine students at $ 10,000

“ I can ’ t think of another medical society in the country who does for medical students what we ’ re doing today ,” said Dr . Jeffrey Bumpous , Interim Dean of the University of Louisville School of Medicine , as he congratulated this year ’ s recipients .
Mark your calendars for next year : the 14th annual Doctor ’ s Cup will take place on Monday , September 30 , 2024 . We can ’ t wait to see you there !
