The members of the Kentucky Medical Association showed up in full force for the 2023 Annual Meeting , held in Louisville on August 25-27 .

Five resolutions regarding gun violence prevention were referred to the KMA Gun Violence and Firearm Safety Work Group for further consideration . At the House of Delegates , it was voted that the KMA Gun Violence and Firearm Safety Work Group Report to the 2023 KMA House of Delegates be adopted in lieu of the other three GLMS resolutions on gun violence prevention .

Dr . Michael Kudek ( Winchester ) was sworn in as President and Dr . Evelyn Jones ( Paducah ) was elected President-Elect . In his inaugural address , Dr . We want to thank all of our Delegates for their time and efforts over this season of advocacy and a whirlwind weekend at the KMA Annual Meeting . We look forward to continuing to use our voices to work together to advocate for our patients and our community . We will share more information on how to get involved with advocacy ( like our GLMS Legislative Reception and KMA Physician ’ s Day at the Capitol ) in the coming months .
