Go After the “ Bad Guys ”, Not Their Guns

I

read Dr . Tobin ’ s interesting Second Opinion article on gun violence , which was published in the June issue of Louisville Medicine . 1 It parrots all of the government ’ s propaganda talking points , backed by the liberal “ mean stream media ,” designed to ultimately ban all guns in America ( greater than 100 million ). 2
However , calling all American guns “ assault weapons ” is no different than calling motor vehicles , knives , blunt objects and even hands and feet “ assault weapons ” whose only purpose is to harm or kill people . All of these so-called “ assault weapons ” can be used by a “ deranged individual ” for that purpose . Actually , they are merely “ tools ” that can be used to harm or kill people . In my 85 years , I have never heard of one of these “ tools ” killing anyone without someone operating it and I challenge anyone to refute that fact .
Banning over 100 million guns from law-abiding citizens will not address the primary problem , which is the “ deranged person ” who uses them to harm or kill people . Since that is a very difficult problem to deal with , just ban all guns and everything will be “ ok .” That does not make good sense : Ban motor vehicles ? Ban knives ? Ban blunt objects ? Etc . No one with reasonable intelligence would advocate that as a solution to the primary problem . Also , if law-abiding citizens are banned from having guns , only the “ bad guys ” will have them , obtained through the black market .
Until recently , cars killed more people than guns , but now , due to the significant increase in violent crimes and murders , guns do kill more people than cars . However , if one includes all of the other forms of so called “ assault weapons ” that kill people , the numbers are about the same . 3
I have included some facts that the liberal “ mean stream media ” will never report because they do not fit the government ’ s gun ban agenda :
1 . Over 92 % of all violent crimes do not involve firearms . 4 2 . Rifles of all types are involved in less than 3 % of homicides . 5
3 . More people are murdered each year with knives , blunt objects , etc . than rifles . 6
4 . Over 94 % of all mass , public murders occur in “ gun free zones .” 7
5 . The defensive use of guns occurs in 1.5 to 3.4 million times per year . 8

6 . There are over 1.67 million times per year where guns are used for self-protection without firing a single shot . 9
7 . Red Flag laws have good intentions , but their main objective is to confiscate all of your guns . All that is needed is someone , for whatever reason , willing to file a complaint against you and then willing to testify in an ex parte hearing with zero due process ( where you are not present and cannot defend yourself ). This could be anyone from a distant aunt , to a backstabbing co-worker , to a bitter exwife , etc . 11 If a liberal judge assumes that your accuser is credible , based on unsubstantiated accusations , he can then order the ATF or FBI to send a “ gun confiscation squad ,” with no warrant , to invade your home and confiscate all of your guns . You do not even know why they are there and may not have done anything wrong . 22 This violates the 1 st , 2 nd , 4 th and 6 th Amendments in our Constitution . 10 If you believe that the intruders are criminals and you try to resist them , you could end up dead . 11 This part of the Red Flag laws is rarely mentioned and is absolutely wrong ! The hearing should be conducted in an open court and follow stringent due process protections to safeguard the constitutional rights of the accused . 13
8 . I have collected 382 case reports , from all 50 states , of situations in which guns were used for protection of home and family , and there are many more . 21
Do we really need to keep our right to own and bear arms ? I believe that the answer to that question is “ yes ,” we do need to keep that right as stated in our Constitution ’ s 2 nd Amendment : “ Being necessary to the security of a free state .” 10
If one reviews history and believes in what it told us , we would accept the fact that the first objective of countries with dictators , or left-leaning governments , is to disarm the public so that they cannot defend themselves ( Russia , China , North Korea , Germany under Hitler , Venezuela and even Australia with its left-leaning government ). 14 Following the execution of the order to disarm public , violent crimes and murders go up except for Australia where , since 1996 , there have been many studies which could not prove that confiscating guns had any significant impact on the number of homicides . 15 In fact , the number of guns in Australia actually increased through the black market .
Are there any measures that can be taken to reduce the incidence of violent crimes and murder in America ? Yes , there are , and I have listed a few of them , but unfortunately , they have not gained enough
