DR . WHO
( continued from page 35 )
In addition to the Zoo , she ’ s also serving for the second year alongside Dr . Brennan McClure and Dr . Chance Davis as team physicians for Racing Louisville FC , our women ’ s major league soccer team . They have been with these women since the beginning . “ To cover that level of an athlete , they ’ re energizing to be around . They ’ re gracious , they ’ re fun , they ’ re tough ,” she said . “ It ’ s a lot of additional work but it ’ s worth every bit of it .”
She also serves as team physician for several local schools such as Sacred Heart Academy and Assumption High School . “ I like seeing the athletes and trying to get them fixed and back on the field or court . Being an athlete gives me a good perspective but so does being a mom . Not only can I help the kids mentally and physically , but I can also help the parents through the injury mentally .”
Dr . George and Cris have three children of their own , all of whom have gone off to college . Davis , the oldest , recently graduated from UofL with a finance degree . Conner is a junior at Michigan State where he plays soccer and is studying business . Their youngest is Allie , a freshman at Virginia Tech , also playing soccer and
studying business and marketing . Now that Dr . George and Cris are empty nesters , they want to get back to the things they enjoy doing together . You can find them travelling for sports , often their kids ’ events or cheering on their favorite college teams . Dr . George loves the University of Alabama , but it goes deeper than just being her undergrad alma mater . “ My grandfather and Bear Bryant were good buddies , so we grew up knowing him and all things Alabama . Once you ’ re an Alabama fan , you ’ re always an Alabama fan .”
Dr . George has stuck true to her active childhood and still loves sports and making fitness a priority . She enjoys any kind of activity , but especially working out and running . Basketball is still in her bones , and while you won ’ t find her playing one-on-one anymore , she laughs because , “ I can still beat them all in a game of Horse .”
