SUNFLOWERS

AUTHOR Timir Banerjee , MD
I love the green grass and the pasture in which the sheep graze I always like to sit on my mule and admire the waves of breeze Weaving along the Fabian lock of beautiful Kentucky grass I move on looking at the clusters of sunflowers that I had planted They accent the ocean of green , sheep continue to graze Skipping the punctuations of yellow haze The stamens and the pistils attract the bees I feel thrilled and grin as I become mesmerized at the scene Watching , as Tennyson said , drink life to the lees .
I have sheared some areas along the sunflowers To make them the center piece They stand tall Facing the sun They don ’ t need sunglasses Cause their beauty is in glistening Looking at the bright light Without the fear of wilting Like Icarus Cause it is beauty without pride That ’ s all !
