I believe we all need to participate in this venture . I am urging all GLMS members to sign-up to participate in at least one event this year , preferably more , of course . I challenge every physician to show up and help your fellow colleagues . Do not assume that there will be plenty of other people to handle this vitally important and worthwhile mission . Without you , we will come up short . You either need to provide someone support , you need support yourself , or both . We need one another . If you are introverted or do not prefer groups , we ’ ve got you covered , so don ’ t stay at home . If you feel like groups are not your thing , please show up anyway , we need you .
Woody Allen said , “ Eighty percent of success is showing up .” Stephen Hawking said , “ Half the battle is just showing up .” Showing up is essential . Showing up consistently is powerful . Brene Brown said , “… vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation , creativity , and change .” Physicians are pioneers , innovators and agents for change .

Your participation is vital . I suggest we now consider “ presence ” to be our true fifth vital sign . Your colleagues need you and are depending on you . Please sign-up with us for Physician Wellness . You must be present to win . I look forward to seeing you all there ! Peace and blessings to you and your family .
