IN REMEMBRANCE
Dr . Kalbfleisch and her husband , Paul Kalbfleisch .
• Past President of KY Dermatology and past President of the Greater Louisville Medical Society
In addition to her brilliance as a medical doctor , she was known for her exceptional compassion . She loved caring for her patients . One theme that you ’ ll find if you read the cards her mourning patients sent is this : “ She was more than a doctor ; she was a friend .” She exemplified a quote from Sir William Osler , “ The good physician treats the disease ; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease .” It is simply impossible to quantify the impact that her healing touch had on countless lives over her 38 years of practice . She and Georgia Vincent , her secretary , worked together for over 30 years , and Sheri felt her practice would not have been successful without Georgia . In fact , they called themselves the “ A team .” Before she passed , she wanted to sincerely thank all of her patients for their years of loyalty and their trust . Sheri ’ s compassion also inspired others around her to enter the medical field , myself included .
I always felt that her presence was regal . To stand in her presence made you stand taller . We are all mourning the loss of a truly beautiful soul who taught us so much about love and compassion .
