to Kentucky’s Breast & Cervical Cancer
Screening and Treatment Programs

• The Kentucky Women’s Cancer Screening
Program (KWCSP) provides breast and
cervical cancer screening and follow-up
diagnostic services for eligible Kentucky
women.
• KWCSP eligibility requirements:
– Age 21 or older and younger than 65
– Has a household income at or below 250%
of the federal poverty level
– Has no health insurance (no Medicare, no
Medicaid, or no private health insurance)
• The Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment
Program (BCCTP) provides treatment for
breast or cervical cancer, or precancer of the
breast or cervix for eligible Kentucky women.
• Women who may qualify for the KWCSP or
BCCTP must be referred to the local health
department PRIOR to screening or treatment
by the health care provider.*
• The local health department will facilitate
completing the application for Medicaid who
will determine participant eligibility for BCCTP.
• BCCTP eligibility requirements:
– Has been screened and diagnosed with cancer
by the Kentucky Women’s Cancer Screening
Program through a local health department and/
or contract providers
– Has been found to be in need of treatment for
either breast or cervical cancer, including a
precancerous condition or early stage cancer
– Age 21 or older and younger than 65
– Has a household income at or below 250% of
the federal poverty level
– Does not otherwise have credible health
insurance coverage
* Please refer program eligible patients
to the local health department or call

or diagnosis.
– Is a United States citizen or qualified immigrant
– Is a resident of Kentucky
– Is not eligible for medical assistance or public
insurance in any other eligible group
– Is not a resident of a public institution (e.g. prison)
