lack the respect of society. You should see the joy in their faces when
they arrive at a clinic where they’re thanked for coming.”
Dr. Grimaldi rejects the impulse of some members of society to
see the uninsured as “less than.” As the clinic grows and evolves, he
looks forward to staying involved and working to treat the whole
human being. His prejudice extends to just one sub-group. “I don’t
like to treat people without belly buttons. As long as they have a
belly button, they’re good for me,” he joked.
Reawakened by his service, Dr. Grimaldi extended his abilities
to other charitable practices. He joined the GLMS Foundation
Missions Committee and Hand in Hand Ministries and has made
annual service mission trips to Nicaragua with a group of volunteer
physicians. He serves on the Church Parish Council for St. Raphael
the Archangel Catholic Church and, every Tuesday, he volunteers at
Supplies Over Seas where he sorts equipment by hand. Each year, he
revisits Spain to see his old classmates from Oratorio Festivo de Jerez.

“I see the hand of God in everything. I believe He’ll show me the
way, because I may not have enough imagination to figure it out. If
I’m good for something that will help humanity, He’ll tell me,” Dr.
Grimaldi smiled. “If He doesn’t tell me, that’s His problem.”
This donation of mind, body and spirit is only natural for Dr.
Grimaldi. “Serve with Joy.” “Pray and Work.” They still guide his
life to this day.
