Even with these victories, our work is not done. We will continue
to fight to ensure greater competition and protection for insurance
consumers, and work together to maintain the reforms put into place
to protect our patients’ access to care and combat the opioid crisis.
Membership in the AMA is important because it gives its members
a voice in shaping the practice of medicine. Through membership, I
have access to political, policy and health care leadership that I would
not otherwise have. Instead of feeling like physicians have lost control,
I have a seat at the table – and you can too.
I urge you to join the AMA and get involved in moving medicine
forward for patients and physicians. Join the AMA today by visiting
ama-assn.org/glms-news. If you are part of a group practice, you may
be eligible to join with your colleagues for a discounted rate, all while
strengthening the voice of Greater Louisville physicians on the na-
tional level. To learn more about AMA member benefits, please visit
