ANNUAL REPORT
230 New Resident and Student Members
GLMS was on hand at the White Coat Ceremony and
Resident Orientation to welcome our young new mem-
bers. After the White Coat Ceremony, students were
provided with a free professional headshot compli-
ments of GLMS. At the new resident orientation on
June 30, Dr. Zaring encouraged residents to stay en-
gaged as they began their first year at the University of
Louisville. Nearly 70 residents and fellows joined GLMS.
Wear the White Coat Class of 2017
A signature GLMS event, the Wear the White Coat Ex-
perience began with an introductory breakfast at the
Louisville Water Tower and came to a close one month
later at the Ice House Louisville on November 8, 2017.
There, 40 physicians and community leaders gathered
for a revelatory Post-Op Dinner in which both parties
shared their shadowing experiences. Norris Hamilton,
VP and Assistant General Manager of Horseshoe South-
ern Indiana, shared a story from his time shadowing Dr.
Jeff Tuvlin. “My day could not have been more special,”
Hamilton said. “I envied the time Dr. Tuvlin gave to each
and every one of his patients. That’s something we all
crave as patients.” If you or a peer are interested in par-
ticipating in a future Wear the White Coat event, reach
