Dr. Zaring and his brother, Todd. Christmas 2016 all knew it would be that God-given brain that would help him succeed in life. Though he was always willing to help out at home, such as painting the inside and outside of our newly constructed home, pouring a concrete driveway, helping install an in-ground pool, he knew manual labor was never his strength. I remember seeing Rob and my mother in the hole of our pool with a jackham- mer trying to remove the last bit of rock from where the drain was to be installed. The jackhammer was clearly winning. He did not give up, though it reaffirmed his need to keep excellent grades and fostered a special appreciation for the men and women who are able to handle that type of work. He loved zip-lining in Costa Rica as much as scuba diving in a quarry in Oldham County. He believes in physical exercise as well as exercising his mind. I also do not hesitate to say that he is a very handsome guy, inside and out. I always thought it interesting that his first job, lifeguarding at Residence Inn, was a springboard to guarding lives through the medical profession.
